Key Revenue Assurance Operations
The key revenue assurance operations are:
- Monitoring and Reporting – on the existing
revenue management chain and its operations.
Building and deploying a Baseline Reporting System – this
is a set of RA scorecards and provides a powerful tool for measuring
improvement.
- Assessments and Analysis – of anomalies
found in the RA operations
- Auditing – RA audit processes must be
formally defined as systemative assurances that RA systems and
processes are working effectively.
- RA Resource Management – Staffing, training
and budget allocation
Revenue Assurance Systems
In the past, most revenue assurance processes were manually managed,
with the effectiveness of the operations reliant of key personnel
understanding of the IT systems supporting the revenue management
chain.
Today, formal and highly automated RA capabilities define the overall
RA environment, removing the risk of loss of key expertise.
Types of RA Systems
Network Simulation System – makes controlled
calls across the network, capturing activity in a simulation log.
This log is then compared to the CDR’s generated by the switches.
This ensurse that the network is routing, handling and reporting
calls correctly.
Fraud Management System – reviews CDRs in
near real time flow to identify fraud patterns, heavy usage patterns,
usage violations and any other usage pattern that is CDR traceable.
Flags can be raised against abnormal patterns, and alerts or actions
activated.
